Appearance tells you almost nothing about what's actually in a pool. Hygiene is a function of filtration, sanitation, and testing — never of how the water looks.
A pool can look flawless and still carry bacteria, viruses, or parasites. Every swimmer adds sweat, oils and organic matter to the water — without correctly sized filtration and consistent sanitation, that load accumulates long before the water visibly changes.

With a pool, the water itself is at least visible. With a musical fountain, the entire treatment story sits in a sump under the deck that nobody ever sees.
Water is drawn from a hidden tank, jetted through the deck, and recirculated back into that same tank — filtered and dosed, in principle, before it sprays again. The tank is rarely inspected. The jets and access covers are all anyone can see. And the feature is used hardest by exactly the users least likely to have reliable toileting hygiene: young children playing directly in the spray.
