Water by Design

Every Pool Begins
With a Question.

Not what shape. Not what size. But: how do you intend to live with water? The answer determines everything — the type, the depth, the light, the relationship between the pool and the life of the house around it.

"The finest pool is not the most elaborate one. It is the one that fits the life it was built for so perfectly that you stop noticing it is there — and start noticing only how you feel."

01

Overflow Pool

The pool that disappears into life.

In an overflow pool, the water reaches the very edge and spills — silently, continuously — into a concealed gutter at the perimeter. There is no coping. No raised edge. No visual barrier between the water and the garden, the terrace, the life of the house.

You are not stepping into a pool. You are stepping into water that is at the same level as everything else. In the evenings, when the light drops and the overflow creates its constant gentle movement across the surface, the pool becomes the focal point of the entire space — and of every occasion held around it.

The engineering beneath this simplicity is significant. The overflow weir must be set at precisely the right height. The balance tank must be correctly sized. The hydraulics must be calibrated so that the surface remains in constant, even motion. When it is done correctly, the result is the most serene pool format that exists.

Infinity Pool

Where the water meets the horizon.

An infinity pool is, at its finest, an act of landscape design as much as pool design. The water does not simply occupy a space — it engages with what lies beyond it. Borrowing the view. Extending the horizon. Creating a relationship between the built and the natural world that no other architectural element can achieve.

The infinity edge — that single vanishing line where the water appears to continue indefinitely — is deceptively simple in concept and extraordinarily demanding in execution. The surrounding landscape must be resolved as a single composition with the water. When it is, the effect is one of the most powerful experiences a private residence can offer.

We have built infinity pools for Taj Hotels, for private hillside residences, for rooftop spaces in Delhi NCR where the city becomes the view. Each one is engineered from first principles for its specific site, specific orientation, and specific relationship to the light.

Indoor & All-Weather Pool

A room built around water.

An indoor pool is conceived as a room first and a pool second. A space with considered proportions, considered light, considered materiality — and the kind of atmospheric quality that makes you want to be in it whether you are swimming or simply sitting beside the water on a January morning in Delhi.

This is not a pool in a room. It is a room built around water. The distinction in experience is everything — and it is the distinction that separates a building that happens to contain a pool from a home that is genuinely organised around one.

The technical demands of an indoor pool are categorically different from an outdoor installation — humidity control, air handling, dehumidification, acoustic management. This is precisely where experience becomes most visible, and where our twenty-five years of delivering all-weather pools across India's climate zones matters most.

Hydrotherapy Pool

Water as daily recovery.

A hydrotherapy pool is not a spa feature. It is a daily wellness environment — and clients who have lived with one consistently describe it as the single most transformative addition to their home. The warm water, the countercurrent jets, the targeted pressure at the specific points where long-haul travel and high-pressure work accumulate tension: the effect is immediate, and cumulative.

A full hydrotherapy sequence — warm immersion, countercurrent swimming, lumbar decompression, shoulder and neck jets, leg and calf stimulation — can be completed in thirty minutes. The physiological benefit is equivalent to a professional sports recovery session. The difference is that it happens before your first meeting of the day, in your own home.

We design hydrotherapy pools with jet placement specified to the client's anatomy and lifestyle — not to a standard catalogue position. The water temperature, the jet pressure, the flow dynamics: all are engineered for the specific human being who will use this pool every morning.

Cold Plunge Pool

The most powerful two minutes of your day.

Cold water immersion at the correct temperature triggers one of the most powerful physiological responses available without medication — a sharp elevation of noradrenaline, rapid reduction in inflammation, profound improvement in circulation, and the extraordinary mental clarity that follows within minutes of leaving the water. Those who build it into their daily routine describe it as irreplaceable.

A cold plunge pool is compact, requiring minimal footprint. It is most powerful when positioned in sequence with a heated pool or sauna — the contrast between heat and cold amplifying the benefit of both. In the finest private wellness environments, the cold plunge is not an afterthought. It is the centrepiece.

We engineer cold plunge pools to hold a stable temperature regardless of ambient conditions — which in much of India, where summer air temperatures exceed 45°C, requires a chilling specification that most contractors do not design for. Ours do.

Multi-Level Pool

Water at every level of life.

A multi-level pool resolves one of the most persistent challenges in residential pool design — how to serve different ages, different needs, and different moments of the day within a single water environment. The result is not a pool with a shallow end. It is a sequence of distinct water experiences, each at its own depth and temperature, connected by the same design language and the same quality of water.

At its most considered, a multi-level pool might move from a deep lap lane at one end, through a central social pool at leisure depth, to a raised wading level for younger family members — each transition marked by a step, a change in material, or a shift in the coping detail that reads as intentional rather than functional.

This is a format we have delivered at scale — most notably at Cleo County, where seven distinct pool levels serve a community of several thousand residents while reading, from any vantage point, as a single composition. It is among the most technically demanding formats we build. It is also among the most rewarding to live with.

Bio Pond & Natural Pool

Water kept clean by living things.

A bio pond holds no chlorine at all. The water is cleaned the way a healthy stream cleans itself — by plants, beneficial bacteria and gravel, engineered into a regeneration zone that works alongside the swimming area. The result is dark, soft, living water that draws dragonflies and birdsong, and stays planted and beautiful twelve months a year.

It is also the most demanding water body we discuss with clients. It needs one and a half to two times the land of a conventional pool, a known and limited number of swimmers, and genuine patience — season one will not look like season three. In a hot climate it is a serious engineering problem, not a low-technology shortcut.

Because the trade-offs are real, we have written the full, honest technical reference — what a bio pond actually is, where it belongs, what nobody tells you before you sign, and the three routes to a natural water body, only one of which is a true bio pond.
